Mango lassi is a smooth, creamy drink made by blending ripe mango with plain yogurt, milk, and a little sugar.
The natural sweetness of the fruit gives the drink its bright flavor, while yogurt creates a rich texture and milk helps achieve a pourable consistency.
This homemade version requires just a few ingredients and about 10 minutes of preparation. It is easy to customize depending on the sweetness and ripeness of the mango, making it a convenient drink to prepare whenever you want something cold and refreshing.

Ingredients

- 140 g ripe mango, peeled and chopped
- 120 ml whole milk
- 120 g plain whole-milk yogurt
- 12–25 g cane sugar, to taste
- 3–4 ice cubes

Choose the Mango

The mango is the main source of flavor, so use ripe fruit with soft, juicy flesh. A naturally sweet mango may require less added sugar, while a less sweet one may need a little more.
If using fresh mango, chilling the pieces before blending can create a colder, thicker drink. Frozen mango also works well and can reduce the need for ice.

Prepare the Mango

1. Wash the mango thoroughly.
2. Peel the skin and remove the seed.
3. Cut the flesh into small pieces.
4. Measure 140 g of prepared mango before adding it to the blender.

Blend the Lassi

1. Add the mango, milk, yogurt, and 12 g of sugar to a blender.
2. Add 3–4 ice cubes.
3. Blend for 30–60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth.
4. Taste the lassi and add more sugar if needed.
5. If the consistency is too thick, add a small amount of milk and blend briefly again.
For the smoothest result, make sure the mango pieces are fully blended and no fruit pieces remain.

Adjust the Consistency

The final texture can be adjusted easily according to preference. For a thicker lassi, use chilled or frozen mango and avoid adding extra milk. For a thinner consistency, gradually blend in a little more milk.
The amount of sugar can also be adjusted according to the natural sweetness of the mango.

Serve

Pour the finished lassi into a clean glass and serve immediately while chilled.
For a simple presentation, garnish with a few small pieces of mango. If preparing the drink for guests, chill the serving glasses beforehand to help keep the lassi cold.

Storage

Mango lassi is best served shortly after blending. If it needs to be stored, cover it and refrigerate it at 4.4°C or below.
For the best quality, consume it within 24 hours. Some separation may occur during storage, so stir gently before serving.
